This is a Dell paperback first printing of Carter's classic, The Magic Toyshop. 

"Angela Carter says that she wrote her first novel at the age of six; it was called 'Tom Catt goes to Pussy Market' and she illustrated it herself. She has been writing ever since, chiefly journalism and poetry in many literary magazines, but her next novel after 'Tom Catt' was a real one, Honeybuzzard (UK original title: Shadow Dance, published in 1966) . . . She reports that her next novel will be about good-time pleasures in the provinces." That would be Several Perceptions (1968) set in the southwestern English port city of Bristol. Have a look in my collection catalogue for an excellent first edition copy of it. 

This paperback with its intriguing cover illustration has a vintage look with yellow adhesive tape across the spine. Binding remains intact. The pages have yellowed but are otherwise clean. The book, although aged, appears unread.
