This beautiful edition of stories by Du Maurier found its way to the first Garden Party, an annual book pop-up weekend in Affligem, Belgium, hosted by my book friend and gardener Els Roelandt and her equally book-loving son Raphael Vanbelleghem.

Each year, in the first weekend of July, Els and Raphael welcome you in their orchard in the Flemish countryside (or in the barn when it rains) and offer a selection of the finest garden-themed books, Flemish rural literature, and contemporary art. There used to be a very old apple tree in their garden but it got felled down by a summer storm...
