Amelia Earhart wanted to be the first female pilot to fly around the world. The trip, made in a two-motor all-metal monoplane, took off in Oakland on May 20, 1937, and made fuel stops around the equator, in places like Paramaribo, Dakar, Karachi, Kolkata, Bangkok, Bandung, and so on.
On July 2, Amelia left New Guinea on the longest and most difficult part of her journey and never arrived at her destination, Howland Island in the Pacific Ocean). She was declared dead on January 5, 1939.
Collecting the letters and reports she sent back home during her journey, Last Flight is the story of this fatal adventure, in Earhart's own words. Read it with a soundtrack of Laurie Anderson's 2024 album Amelia, featuring fragments of these writings performed by Anderson and Anohni.
The dust jacket has some tears in the front and on the spine. More photos on request.
